Patented Dyson cyclone technology.

It took 5 years and 5,127 prototypes for James Dyson to invent the first vacuum cleaner with no loss of suction. Dyson engineers have been refining the technology ever since. Relentlessly testing and perfecting it – making it work even better.

Dyson cyclones capture more dirt than other cyclone technology. The latest Dyson Ball™ vacuums have Radial Root Cyclone™ technology, with airflows that have been remodelled to maximise suction power.

Ball™ technology.

Dyson Ball™ vacuums steer very differently to ordinary vacuum cleaners. They ride on a ball, which turns on the spot, allowing the user to steer smoothly around furniture and other obstacles. The edges of the ball are smooth to reduce friction and stop it digging into the carpet pile.

Dyson digital motor.

Dyson engineers have spent 10 years developing a new type of highly efficient digital motor.
It powers the new Dyson handhelds and Dyson Digital Slim™ cordless vacuum cleaners.
